Evening Skincare Tips & Dr. Organic’s Organic Rose Otto Facial Serum Review

Dr. Organic is a green friendly UK based product company that has anything from skincare products to toothpaste. All of their products are made with organic, non-animal, bioactive, natural ingredients.

Before I continue, I want to say I don’t normally accept products that are not offered in the United States. I accidentally thought I read that Holland and Barrett ships internationally (when they actually only ship to European countries). I apologize for that.

When I spoke with a representative of Dr. Organic, they assured me that it’s only a matter of time until their products are sold in the US. They are currently selling some of their products on a trial basis with Vitamin World.

My UK readers can still purchase Dr. Organic products at Holland & Barrett.

They have some really cool products that I’m interested in trying.

Some things on my must-try list are -

  • Tea Tree Wet Wipes
  • Manuka Honey Face Scrub
  • Aloe Vera Face Cream
  • Rose Otto Night Cream
  • Rose Otto Skin Toner
  • Rose Otto Lip Serum

My Review

I was sent the Rose Otto Serum to try. Summer will be here before we know it, so I really try to baby my skin so it will be looking it’s best when I’m by the pool not wearing foundation.

This serum is very thick; think Olive Oil. That typically frightens me because I have oily skin, so I am always scared of breaking out with heavier products.

The scent is of very strong Rose. If you aren’t a fan of the rose scent, I promise you will not enjoy this product. Luckily, I love rose!

I apply this serum after cleansing & toning my skin; right before I moisturize. A dime sized amount should be plenty for your entire face and smoothed down onto your neck.

After using this product for a couple weeks, I can say I noticed a much brighter appearance of my skin in the mornings. I didn’t break out once, so I would say it’s safe for acne-prone skin to test out.

It is an anti-aging serum and my personal opinion on “anti-aging” products goes a little something like this… Anything that gives your skin an adequate amount of moisture is going to prevent aging. For example, in Esthetician school we learned that oily skin will not wrinkle as quickly as dry skin. Does that make sense? As long as your skin is hydrated, it is less likely to age as quickly. Of course that also means you should be drinking plenty of water, not smoking and protecting your skin with sunscreen.

This product retails for £12.29 in the UK, around $20 in the US.

If you can get your hands on this product, I do recommend giving it a try.  One bottle contains 30ml, so it’s a very decent amount of product for a serum which requires very little amount of product anyway.

Tips for Your Nightime Skincare Routine

It’s a good idea to use a serum every evening if you want to keep improving the look & feel of your skin. Don’t forget to use your serums & night creams all the way down your neck and onto your chest. They need attention too!

Remember the best order for your evening skincare routine is -

  1. Cleanser
  2. Toner
  3. Serum
  4. Night Cream

Be sure to exfoliate 2-3 times a week.

Disclaimer: I was sent this product for consideration. As always, these are my honest opinions.
